The first game of the Champions Trophy will see the Sri Lankans take on the might of the hosts, South Africa. The match will be played at the Super Sport Park in Centurion.
South Africa is currently the number one ranked team in the world and it will definitely be a difficult proposition for the Lankans to think of getting the better of the hosts.
For one, the Lankans are not great travellers and especially not to venues which have pitches that offer a lot more bounce.
Sri Lanka, traditionally, has had pitches in their country which have assisted the spinners much more than otherwise making it even more difficult for the batsmen to adjust to the pace and the bounce.
